• BAA announces 12.3% increase in May Traffic Figures at Edinburgh

  Today the BAA announced an increase in its May traffic figures at Edinburgh Airport showing an increase of 12.3%. BAA said that this increase, the second highest gain behind Southampton was due to a new daily scheduled sevice to the US.
  
  In total the BAA increase across its seven airports was an increase of 5% on the same month last year. A total of 12.3 million passengers were recorded as flying from a BAA airport in May this year. Every airport recorded record gains.Southampton airport had the largest gain of 30.4% due to Flybe's expansion of routes.
  
  Other figures from BAA were Stansted with an increase of 10.7%, and Heathrow and Gatwick with increases of 2.0% and 4.9% respectively.and in Scotland Aberdeen was 10.9% ahead and Glasgow was up by 2.6%.
